Get to know Maggie...
How long have you been in the beauty industry?
5, almost 6 years!
Your why - why did you want to become a hairstylist?
After a few years of floating through life after college as a starving artist, I decided it was time to find a creative career that could support me emotionally but also financially. I have always loved doing friends hair, as well as experimenting with my own, so I figured I'd enroll in hair school and see how it went. I'd say it went pretty well! I can't imagine doing anything else.
Favorite part of the industry?
it is always evolving and changing. There is always something new and fresh, and that is something that I need in a career. I get bored very quickly, and I feel like this industry absolutely CRUSHES boredom, as long as you stay current and educated!
Favorite service to provide/specialty?
This changes literally daily, so this is a tough question. I feel like lately I am loving to flex and push my short hair cutting skills. I absolutely love cutting bobs and pixies, because they are creative but also structured. I love trying to create that perfect balance between texture and shape!
Hobbys besides hair?
I enjoy painting, drawing, and music!
Hair product you couldn’t live without?
7seconds leave in conditioner and GO365 hair spray by UNITE.
Beauty product you couldn’t live without?
Mascara. I don't often wear lots of makeup, but mascara is the one thing you can guarantee I put on before I leave the house. Darn blonde lashes.
Favorite food?
If I had to pick a favorite style, it would be Mexican food. HOWEVER, if we are talking last meal ever, I'd have to go with a thanksgiving leftover sandwich. Extra gravy, please.
Starbucks order?
Venti Pink Drink light ice, with a reduced fat turkey bacon sandwich. I also really enjoy a cold brew with vanilla sweet cream.
5 things you hate but everyone else likes?
1.) Drinking plain water. I need AT LEAST a slice of lemon.
2.) If I never had to watch another sporting event, I wouldn't be mad.
3.) Moscow Mules, because ginger beer is gross.
4.) Country-Pop Music
5.) Lobster (I don't hate it, but I prefer crab any day)
